The IDMAG team explores the links between the spatial organisation of magnetisation and its dynamics in low-dimensional systems. To do this, we use various imaging techniques (Kerr microscopy, near-field, synchrotron X-rays) and magnetic analysis (Brillouin scattering, spin transport). Our approach is essentially experimental, supported by micromagnetic models and simulations.
Research focuses on :
- Chiral magnetic textures (skyrmions, domain walls) in ultrathin films,
- Dynamics of magnetisation and spin waves,
- Current and field effects on magnetic textures,
- Movement of magnetic walls in disordered media,
- Imaging and dynamics of ferrimagnets,
- Textures in 2D heterostructures
