The IDMAG team explores the links between the spatial organisation of magnetisation and its dynamics in low-dimensional systems. To do this, we use various imaging techniques (Kerr microscopy, near-field, synchrotron X-rays) and magnetic analysis (Brillouin scattering, spin transport). Our approach is essentially experimental, supported by micromagnetic models and simulations.

Research focuses on :

  • Chiral magnetic textures (skyrmions, domain walls) in ultrathin films,
  • Dynamics of magnetisation and spin waves,
  • Current and field effects on magnetic textures,
  • Movement of magnetic walls in disordered media,
  • Imaging and dynamics of ferrimagnets,
  • Textures in 2D heterostructures
